All About the Beans: Where to Get Your Morning Coffee
Summer 2015 is winding down — which, for many of us, means work is revving up. As you prepare to get back in the grind, so to speak, we have a suggestion: Start your day with a brisk walk to work (or your commuting spot of choice) along a route that allows for a stop at a favorite café.
Here are four spots in our area worth checking out:
• Blue State Coffee: This community-oriented coffee shop is a philanthropic family business that happens to also serve a delicious brew. Reference the staff’s tasting notes to choose the blend that’s just right for you. 155 Seaport Blvd.
• Barrington Coffee Roasting Company: Roasted right in the Berkshires, but sourced from farms around the globe, the beans at Barrington are known for yielding rich, fresh, full-flavored coffee. The simple, elegant storefront at Fort Point is their flagship location. 346 Congress St.
• Flat Black Coffee Company: These folks are espresso-obsessed. Micro-roasted beans make your morning cup even more of an indulgence. You’ll be impressed enough to pick up a package of beans for the road. 260 Franklin St.
• Thinking Cup: Located just a few steps from the Common, Thinking Cup serves only Stumptown coffee (or “The Best Coffee in the World” according to some). Pair your brew with a flaky pastry or fresh egg and cheese sandwich. 85 Newbury St.
Here’s to starting the workday right. We hope you enjoy discovering where to buy the blend that suits you best!
