Hit the Deck: The Seaport’s Best Patio Dining


The time for outdoor dining is fleeting, but the Seaport District lets you make the most of it. Step outside and take your pick from the plum outdoor offerings of our neighborhood.

Here are a few of our favorites:

Legal Harborside: Legal offers year-round rooftop dining — and when they retract that roof each spring, the ultra-fresh sushi tastes even better. With sharing plates and an expansive wine menu, this place pleases a steady stream of visitors every night.

Del Frisco’s: Sprawling patio seating means you can really stretch out and savor your favorite cut of meat. Count on spectacular views, impressive ambiance and a mouth-watering menu. Regulars recommend the bone-in prime ribeye or the crisp duck steak.

Temazcal Cantina: Tortillas grilled to order, enthusiastic staff, a tequila bar and harbor-side seating make for a great group destination. The fish tacos earn high marks, as do the ceviche and chorizo mac and cheese.

Miel: Why go anywhere other than the Intercontinental when you’re in the mood for French? The all-organic menu draws on the tastes and traditions of Côte d’Azur. Try the tuna tartare or anything with honey — the restaurant keeps its own bees.

Smith and Wollensky: This welcome new addition to Atlantic Wharf offers the very best in traditional American fare. Its chefs take flavor seriously (for example, the restaurant dry ages its meats onsite), and the atmosphere is just as inviting as the food. Save room for cheesecake.
